Gund Mini Martians

These adorable little outer space dolls show up on eBay from time to time, usually without shoes or costumes. Given what a completely disorganized kid I was, it's amazing that I managed to keep most of the bits and pieces of my Martians.

Space toys were really popular back in the 60's. Between my sister and me, we owned Mini Martians, Major Matt Mason & crew (and LOTS of their gear), and a Snoopy dressed in an astonaut's suit. The coveted space toys I really wanted, but never found, were Barbie's "Miss Astronaut" outfit and GI Joe's Mercury space capsule. What amazing days those were. I was certain that by the year 2000, we'd all be living in houses that looked like the Space Needle, and taking vacations on the moon.

Meri and Mini? Teenie and Bonnie? Bonnie and Meri? Does anyone remember which name goes with which doll?. Star Trek Barbie seeks out strange new life forms, boldly going where no fashion doll has gone before.
